A customized and focused approach to education

MCA Academy offers a high quality alternative to traditional education by providing fully accredited and customized curriculums from Calvert School and Keystone National High School.

Academic materials are constantly evaluated and updated to find and take advantage of the best educational tools available. New lessons are introduced to the curriculums each year.

Grades 1 - 8
The award-winning program from Calvert School has been developed and in use for over a century and is correlated to state standards. Internationally recognized, the curriculum designed for elementary and middle grade students emphasizes a solid understanding in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

The reading program strengthens comprehension and analysis. English grammar and writing are developed under close supervision. In math, students are taught key skills, while focusing on high-level problem solving and critical thinking. Science, geography and history encourage interest in our world and culture. Technology instruction, poetry and art fill the students’ day with ambitious and engaging lessons. The core instruction is reinforced with enrichment courses throughout the year.

With a solid elementary and middle school curriculum, MCA Academy provides the student a strong foundation for high school studies.

Grades 9 - 12

MCAA’s high school program is aimed at students who seek to dream, connect and achieve. By selecting the Keystone National High School program, MCA academy enables students to earn their high school diploma, make important connections, excel academically and plan for college. The students develop practical life skills they can take wherever life leads them.

For more than 30 years Keystone National High School has provided independent study programs to high school students from many educational backgrounds and with unique personal dreams. The curriculum also offers advanced placement (AP) and honors courses designed to meet the students’ desire for knowledge and challenge, and prepare them for college-level study. College level classes put them on the fast-track toward collegiate success. A number of elective classes, including art history, Web design and music appreciation, are also available.

Keystone students are high achievers and motivated learners. College entrance exam scores – SATs and ACTs – reported by Keystone students have been and continue to be higher than the national average.

Graduates of the program have been accepted to top colleges and universities nationwide.

To expand the students’ cultural horizons, the elementary, middle and high school programs include an accredited foreign language program in French and Spanish.

In addition, established partnerships with area organizations and universities provide our students real life and enriching experiences that will meet their desire for advanced learning. Field trips and lectures are organized several times during the year.
