A note from the President and Founder, Brigitte Kishlar

Re-imagine schools for the 21st century. As a parent, I wanted my child to love to learn and gain the academic tools to succeed in his life. My wish came true with MCA academy, a school I founded. At MCA we foster children’s desire to learn. It is a place where they look forward to come in each day, where teachers teach from their heart, a very unique academy with a strong curriculum that cultivates and sustains their motivation. If young students are first given assignments they can complete successfully, they will accept more difficult ones with confidence and with a stronger belief in their own abilities. The more your child believes, the more he/she is open to learn. Every mind learns differently, and everyone has a gift. Our mission at MCA academy goes beyond teaching.

Parents' Testimonials

Nathalie Kansky, mother of Athena Trouillot (12 year-old) and Astrid Trouillot (10 year-old) both students at MCA academy:

Nathalie did not want to homeschool her daughter, Athena, an aspiring tennis professional. At her previous school, she was always behind in her work because of frequent absences when she was away at tennis competitions. “School, coupled with my daughter’s tennis, put her under a lot of stress. It took a lot of work, a lot of late nights. She was loosing her enthusiasm for learning.” Nathalie was looking for alternatives when she discovered MCA.  “I wanted her to be at the same competitive level as her peers. I was looking for a nontraditional setting but did not want to give up on good education principles. I want to thank MCA academy for providing the environment where my daughter can revive her enthusiasm for learning and expand her wings large enough to respond to the rigorous training that is part of her aspiration to play tennis professionally. What a concept, what an endeavor, congrats!!!”

Students' Testimonials

Astrid Trouillot joined MCA this year. Her passion is ballet and requires daily practice. She wrote: “Thank you for giving me this opportunity to dance as much as I want!”. Astrid is on the way to graduate this spring and start a new grade before the end of this school year.

Claudia Tomas, age 15, has the ambition to become a professional pianist. “Now I have my afternoons free to practice piano. I work hard in class, meet my benchmarks and can do it all. Before, I didn’t have time.”

Camille, age 13, says MCA gives her time to explore her hobbies and passions: “It makes me feel very good because I really like fashion. This school gives me some more time to work with that.” Her two sisters, Anastasia (10 year-old) and Sarah (5 year-old) are also MCA students.

Soa, age 11, wrote to her parents for Parent’s Night: “My school days here are wonderful. I‘ve made many new friends and I am very happy. I am sure you will be very pleased with all my hardwork.” Soa is a powerful learner who could start the next grade months in advance.
